Awards are given to up to two undergraduate students (one freshman or sophomore and one senior or senior) and one graduate student from a diverse USM student body who demonstrate achievement in the following categories: (1) leadership and advocacy; ; (2) learning and interaction; (3) innovation and creativity; (4) Scholarships, scholarships and research

Leadership and Advocacy: This category recognizes student achievements in university advocacy and leadership. This may include, but is not limited to, furthering goals, policies or programs that benefit the university community; leadership in student organizations or athletics; coaching; and the work of justice and inclusion.
Development and Participation: This category recognizes student achievements in public service, development and participation in the community on and off campus. This may include, but is not limited to, community service/volunteer work in civic, social and/or cultural organizations, civic engagement and philanthropy.
Innovation and Creative Activity: This category recognizes student achievement in the creative and performing arts (music, dance, fine arts, literature) and/or innovation, including entrepreneurship.
Study Abroad «
Academic, Scholarship, and Research: This category recognizes a student’s academic, scholarship, or research achievements, such as one or more of the following: outstanding academic record, special publications, seminal research, merit awards, community presentations. regional and national scientific conferences and competitive selection for presentation; ETC.
