Honors graduates include all undergraduate applicants with outstanding academic averages and at least half of the total required course hours earned at MSU. Their specific recognition levels and minimum averages required for each, based on a 4.0 scale, include: summa cum laude, 3.80; magna cum laude, 3.60; and with honors, 3.40.

Academic honors are recorded on diplomas and permanent records of graduates, as well as in the commencement program.
Football Releases Complete 2023 Schedule
Students on the President’s List have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.80 or higher, based on a 4.0 scale, completing at least 12 semester hours of coursework with no incomplete or lower grades.
Students on the Dean’s List have achieved a GPA between 3.5 and 3.79, based on a 4.0 scale, completing at least 12 hours of coursework per semester with no incomplete grades or less than a C.
