A multidisciplinary university research rating of three (3) out of five (5) stars means it is an “institution that is [well] recognized nationally and may have begun to attract international recognition.”

They use three (3) criteria that include various categories when ranking universities correctly: (1) the main criteria categories focus on the parts of the university. (2) stages of improved processes seek a university with strong foundations. and (3) categories of expert criteria scrutinize the technical areas of the institution.

In an interview with Ang Suga, Officer (OIC) of the Board of Trustees and Secretary of the University Dr. Laurence L. Garcia shared that the center received this overall rating only because of its one-star rating in the category of key inclusion criteria.
He added that the university is not yet ready to accommodate international students due to insufficient space and the restrictions of the Philippine government.
“…The most powerful god is the Philippine government in this… It is based on a revised curriculum that strengthens the power of educational development. However, the environment is not yet supportive of international students,” explained Garcia.

Meanwhile, Ms. Naila Y. Beltran, Director of External Affairs and International Relations (EAIL), expressed that some universities in the Philippines also evaluated by QS only received a three-star rating because of this internalization issue.

In a phone interview with Ang Suga, Dr. Filomena T. Dayagbil, OIC of the Office of the President of the University, shared that even before she became the president of the university, it was part of her agenda to create a competitive advantage by gaining international recognition. .

The three-star QS rating is one of the educational institution’s achievements in global recognition, which opens up opportunities to attract foreign students and expose Filipino students to the world.
To address the weakness in the integration field, Dayagbil shared that they have already applied for distance education and are now at CHED for examination.
“We are asking [CHED] to listen to the many proposals to comply with all [requirements]…The intelligence curriculum…with this last section,” he said.

Dayagbil stressed that they plan to apply for another quality assessment and certification program known as Times Higher Education (THE).

Meanwhile, Dr. Filomena T. Dayagbil, Executive Director of CESE – Office of the University President expressed her gratitude to the Senate for supporting the institution of -VSMMC CM and approving the Law of Doktor para sa Bayan. the bill budgeted to increase study places for budding doctors.
“It’s not often that we see Sen. Joel, so we can thank him for all he has done for the university, especially for the establishment of the College of Medicine. … He’s been really supportive since we started this endeavor,” he said.
Dayagbil also expressed his appreciation for Villanueva’s presence at the school as part of promoting “collaboration [with partners] in higher education.”

Cebu Normal University () was honored as one of the winners in Phase 2: Excellence in Adaptive Learning and Innovation at the inaugural Gawad Edukampyon 2021 Awards held via Zoom and Facebook Live this morning.
With the theme “Reframing Teaching and Learning (RTL) of Cebu Normal University in the New Normal,” he donned the crimson and gold colors as one of the four finalists in the Public Higher Education Institution (HEI).

The school campuses of Main, Balamban and Medellin then presented thank you videos to show their appreciation and gratitude, adding a mix of humor and emotion by showing inspirational videos, meme editing and visual memories with teachers.
To further express their gratitude, students were given the opportunity to express their gratitude to their favorite teachers through the Magtutudlo Shout-out portion of the event where selected messages were read out, moving the audience with their words of gratitude.
