The 2023-2024 calendar includes a full week of Thanksgiving weekend, two weeks of Christmas break, and a week off in March for spring break. The calendar shows an extra day off on Monday, Labor Day on September 4th. However, other Monday holidays that students had off this school year such as Columbus Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day. and President’s Day – not on the calendar. .
The daily schedule for each campus has yet to be determined, Allen said, but elementary schools will likely start at 7:50 or 7:55 every day and end at 3:55 or 4:00 pm. High school students will have a slightly longer day, from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., he said.
“This gives us a total of 76,305 minutes, which is slightly more than the required 75,600 minutes,” Allen explained. “It ends up staying in the bank for about 1.6 days. We have two days of bad weather there. So basically we have almost four days of bad weather before we have to… work extra Fridays to make up for this weather.
